They are characterized by a long-standing economic and social crisis that leads to damage in social relationships, personal skills, a lack of vision for the future, and a complete lack of motivation. In 2019, within the borders of the EU-27, 92.4 million people were at risk of poverty or social exclusion; this equated to 21.1% of the EU-27 population."
